Information Technology equips health care providers to collect, store, retrieve, and transfer information electronically. Information technology (IT) has the potential to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of health care. The Department of Information Technology in DM WIMS has the latest technology and qualified personnel to manage and maintain the systems for effective health care delivery system. IT Department provides support for the use and development of information and communications technologies to facilitate and expedite the patient services. DM WIMS Hospital has a comprehensive IT infrastructure, which includes a network of approximately 300 systems, extensive local area networks (LAN) across each of the floors, a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) connecting the PC’s and approximately 8 servers. Staff in the department are technically trained and experienced to provide support. The department provides training to all the staff and also engages in development of new applications.
